Cards, Cards and more Cards!

'Seaside Shaker' Shaker Card 20120501
While watching StampTV I came across Shaker Cards.  Well, I have tried this before and had no luck but with the help of Gina K. I decided to tackle this once again.  It did take a couple of tries to get it right.  While this one is not perfect, I just loved the way it came together.  I enter this one in the StampTV Challenge STV12MON15 for Square Cards.  Again, didn't win but still trying!!! LOL

The next card I also made for one of the challenges (STV12FRI12 Birthday Card in your Style).  Wasn't the lucky winner again but I am sure I will be one of the lucky ones soon.

'Happy Birthday' Sponging a Layer Card 20120508
Another technique I got from StampTV.  Yes, I am so addicted to watching it.  Gina K. explains and demonstrates everything so it is so easy to understand.  I liked the finished card on this one as well.  I did add some clear highlights to some of the flower petals which didn't photograph at all well.  LOL Thought it looked like it was possessed.  I really liked this technique and plan on using it again.

'Happy Birthday Peach' 20120510
The next card I made for my Mother's sisters birthday.  I found the greatest little tools when I was shopping the other day and just had to try them out.  It was a Sizzix Stamp & Die set called Garden Flower Set.  If you have never seen these I would definitely recommend checking them out.  The set come with the stamps for the flowers as well as the dies to cut them out.  This particular set came with three flowers, lady bug and bumble bee.  I used my COPIC markers to color them. I also did a little extra with the inside of the card.
I used every color from the flowers to color the Happy Birthday stamp.  Also, used the other flower and bumble bee.  I love these stamps and dies.  They are quick and easy to use and give a very nice look to the cards.

Catching up on my Cards!

Well, guess I am better at crafting than blogging.  LOL

I have made way more cards than I have gotten posted.  So now trying to catch up.  I won't be going into as much detail on how I did these but if there is anything outstanding about the technique or where I got my inspiration I will post the information below the picture.  I will also list the stamps I used at the bottom of the post.  I hate looking at cards on the web and not know how to get a stamp I love.  Hopefully, I will be able to post on time from now on.  LOL

The background for this card was made by taking a piece of card stock and completing heat embossing the entire surface of the card stock with silver embossing powder.  I then run it through the Cuttlebug using one of the embossing folders.  I distressed it using sandpaper and then added some ink to further age it.  Add some green card stock for the layering effect.  Not my favorite but I believe it turned out well.

"Paris" (Gate Fold) 20120502
This card I entered in the StampTV STV12FRI11 challenge.  I love this card because it has so many different textures to it.  For the background, I again heat embossed the entire surface of a piece of card stock and run through the Cuttlebug using one of the embossing folders.  I distressed all pieces with sandpaper and ink.  I was lucky enough, well maybe I did plan it a little, that the card stood up and could be displayed as shown above.

Didn't win the challenge but loved making this card.......I would have to list it as one of my favorites so far.

I really do love doing the challenges from StampTV because it gives me ideas for making cards that are different and besides I might get lucky and win some stamps!

One can never have too many STAMPS!

Stamps used on these cards:
  • Inkadinkado 'Tin Can Mail' 91599
  • Inkadinkado 'Paris' 93372
  • Stampabilities 'Live, Laugh, Love' ER1099
If you want any information about any of the other supplies or tools I used drop me a comment.

Card #4: Modes Courture

This card kinda happened by accident.  I think some of my best cards happen that way.  I was playing with my Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders.  Decided to heat emboss the raised images on the paper.  At first I just thought it was awful but when I started adding color to it and then added one of my favorite stamps it became my favorite card.  I love the colors and they way they pop against the black card stock.  I also heat embossed the stamped image, added some flock and glitter to the dress.

What I used to make this card:
  • Stampablities 'Modes Couture' JR1052
  • Cuttlebug Embossing Folder 'Emboss A2 Textile Textures' 37-1153
  • Memento Tuxedo Black and Bahama Blue Stamp Pads
  • Copic Markers B95 'Light Greyish Coblat' and B93 'Light Crockery Blue'
  • The Paper Source Black and White Cardstock
  • Stampendous! 'Midnight Black' Embossing Powder EP111
  • Doodlebug Design Inc Crushed Velvet Flock 'Blue'
  • Crystal Glitter
  • Scrap Black Ribbon
  • Versamark Stamp
The card is blank inside and can be used for any occasion.

It was made 4/29/2012.

What is going on in my world!

Have been on vacation all week crafting away.  Going to try to catch up on posting some of the cards and journals I have been making.  Will provide brief description of some of the interesting materials I have used.  Most of the inspiration for my cards have been from StampTV or You Tube.  There are some way smarter people than I out there creating beautiful cards.  Will try to supply links to the videos I got my ideas from.  I have started listing my journals on Etsy if anyone is interested in owning one.

But I guess since I am mostly just talking to myself on here.  LOL Guess I already own several.  This is still a good place to keep a record of my cards I make and tell the stories of my kitties and critters.

This is what the puppies have been doing while I have been on vacation.  LOL

Hopefully, I will get some of the card pictures posted tonight!!!!!!!!

Card #3: "Pick Me Up"

Time to show off another card I made last weekend.  Getting behind on updating my blog but thankfully I am on vacation next week so hope to get everything caught up.

This card was an experiment on some techniques I saw on StampTV.  The background was dry embossed using a CuttleBug Folder.  I then the embossed image.  The tree background was stamped on some marker paper and the pickup was stamp on to some watercolor paper.  The card was then wrapped with some twine.  I thought it turned out looking pretty good.  I am still sharpening my card making skills after some time away from the hobby.
