Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 - August

Hello!

Running way behind getting my tag done this month!

I have not done much masking before on my projects so this was a fun technique to try.  It really does make the image pop off the tag.

Here is my take on this months tag!

OMG! I have been PUBLISHED!

Hello!

I am over the top excited to be published for the first time in Somerset Studio Sep/Oct 2013 issue.  My Happy Hauntings Clock Tower is featured on page 124.

I knew that the magazine had hit my local shop and was feeling blue that I hadn't heard anything from Somerset that I was in it.  To my surprise when I checked the mail today I found a gray plastic wrapped magazine.  I ripped that puppy open and there it was; my complimentary issue with a note I had been published!!!!!  Needless to say there was some screaming and excited jumping up and down.  Well, as much as you can do in the car.  LOL

Click here to see my post where I submitted.   It has more pictures of the clock tower.

I am so thankful to Somerset Studio for choosing my project to put in their magazine.

Kaisercraft Tool Box- Fairies Whispers

Hello!

This week worked on another Kaisercraft kit.  This time it was the Tool Box.  These kits are easy to do and very satisfying on the outcome.

For this one I used another paper pack from my huge stash of paper.  It was Prima 'Fairy Rhymes Collection' 12x12 pack.  I covered most of the piece before assembly,  I cover the outside end piece and the bottom after it was glue together so the assembly slots would be covered.

Although either side could be displayed as the front, I chose this side because of the saying and I really liked the little monkey with the umbrella.  : )

Used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to give the box a distressed look around the handle and the edges of the paper.

I didn't over embellish the piece because the paper was just too pretty to cover up. Used the washi tape to finish off the edges of the box.

I added a little Stickles to the butterflies for a little sparkle.

Another fun kit from Kaisercrafts.  Size of box is 11.25 x 7 x 5.5 inches.

This tool box could be used as a mini album holder or if you have a lot of tags you collect this would be a great place to display them.  It also could be used as a gift box or remote control holder; the possibilities are endless.

Present for Mom...Kaisercraft Treasure Chest

Hello!

My Mom and I went shopping the other day and she came home with one of the Kaisercraft Beyond the Page MDF 6-Drawer Chest.  So home it went with me for paper and glue.  This is the first one of these kits I have tried and I must stay they are really nice.  They go together easy and cover with paper, paint or stain very nicely.  The main part of the box is made out of MDF and the drawer are a very heavy chipboard which are pre-scored for folding.  The chest measures 8.5x9.5x4.25 inches.  Mine is a little taller because I added some little feet to it.

Since my Mom really like butterflies I chose a paper pack from The Paper Studio called Bella Bohemia there was a lot of really cool butterfly papers in it that made her happy and color that I love to work with that makes me happy.

I didn't really over embellish the finished product because I need she would be using it a lot and I didn't really want them to get in the way of pulling the drawer in and out.

Here is my finished product.

I found this really cool butterfly draw pull at Hobby and with a little bit of distressing it topped off the chest rather nicely.

I did add a little interest to the inside of the box by stamping some butterflies on each shelf.

I really enjoy this project and would recommend these kits.  The make a great functional piece of art to use for yourself or as gifts.
